We held our 10th summer garden party in the amazing setting of Wollaton Hall on June 23rd. The party started with drinks in the picturesque grounds followed by dinner in the Great Hall. Guests were also treated to entertainment in the form of a jazz band and an expert magician.
Kate Shaw from Treetops Hospice in Risley, the firm’s Charity of the Year for 2010, was given the opportunity to talk to guests about the work of Treetops and the exciting times they are going through with the opening of their new daycare centre. Kate also managed to recruit some runners for the Experian Robin Hood Festival of running for which Treetops Hospice is one of two official race charities.
Duncan Lyon, a partner at Ellis-Fermor & Negus, said “We greatly value our growing relationship with Treetops and have the greatest respect for the wonderful and essential work that they are doing. It is a privilege to be associated with them in their capacity as the Ellis-Fermor & Negus Charity of the Year. Kate Shaw’s energy and infectious enthusiasm at our recent annual Garden Party will, I believe, have prompted many of those present to seriously consider supporting this excellent local charity and digging out their trainers and running vests to run for Treetops in this year’s Robin Hood Marathon”.
Kate said of the evening “I thoroughly enjoyed myself…a wonderful setting and great company. The support that Ellis Fermor and Negus gives Treetops Hospice is fantastic.”
