The Directors of NDT Services Ltd, VictoryPark, Derbyand Quality Verification Services, Winterstoke Road, Weston-Super-Mare, are pleased to announce the acquisition of the QVS business by NDT Services.  Both companies are well established in the non destructive testing industry and both are considered to be market leaders in their respective fields.

NDT Services Ltd was originally formed as the result of a management buy out in 1986 with the present Managing Director, Graham Tomlinson joining the company – prior to a company name change, in 1984. NDT Services Ltd now employs over 130 people, split between the ndt and materials testing laboratories and staff employed on sites throughout the UK and Europe.

Quality Verification Services was established by Dave Francis in November 1983 gaining a reputation as theUK’s leading supplier of Eddy current tube testing services for a wide range of industry sectors, but with an emphasis on power generation. Both companies are united in their commitment to providing highly professional, quality services at competitive prices with rapid response times and maximum flexibility to the end user.

The acquisition of QVS forms part of a strategic plan of growth for NDT Services along with the previous acquisitions in 2007 of NDT businesses including Eurospection Ltd and the move to a 33000 sq ft purpose built head office and laboratory complex in 2011.  A combination of an increase in turnover and the three acquisitions have lead to NDT Services becoming known as the largest, independently owned testing company in the UK.

The QVS side of the business will continue to operate from the current Weston-Super-Mare site and will be lead by NDT Services, power services division manager, Tim Cresswell. Dave Francis will continue to be involved in the business – for the next two years at least, in order to ensure a smooth transition of the business and most importantly, continuity for the current clients.

The acquisition was assisted by Murray Macnab from local solicitors, Ellis-Fermor & Negus.  “It’s great to see this local company going from strength to strength, not only in theUK, but overseas too. I have been very pleased to work with them on all three acquisitions and their hard work and exemplary approach has made the best of these strategic projects” commented Murray.

NDT Services Managing Director,Graham Tomlinson, states, “The acquisition of a company with the reputation and credentials of QVS is a major boost to our own service offerings and the potential for future growth. This niche business will fit very well into our existing power services division and will give us a wider scope to offer to our clients, as well as giving the existing QVS staff the opportunity to broaden their own skills and certifications. We were greatly assisted in the acquisition by Murray Macnab who brought his vast commercial expertise and pragmatic approach to the proceedings.”
