The initial Mediation Information and Assessment Meeting costs:
- £50 plus VAT for an individual session and,
- £90 plus VAT for a joint session (as a couple)
Mediation costs per person are typically less than you would pay your solicitor for the time spent resolving your issues.
At Ellis-Fermor & Negus our fees for mediation are £80 per hour, per person. Most sessions usually last approximately 90 minutes. Therefore a typical session will cost £240 plus VAT, per couple to which will be added the cost of any preparation, correspondence and drafting of documents such as the Memorandum of Understanding and Financial Statements.
Most courses of mediation for couples take on average 3-4 sessions.
We currently do not have a legal aid franchise to conduct publicly funded mediation. If necessary, we may be able to negotiate fees for couples where one of them would normally qualify for funded mediation.
