Chartered legal executive Joanna Bridges has joined solicitors Ellis-Fermor & Negus at their Beeston office in Devonshire Avenue.
Joanna is a fellow of the Chartered Institute of Legal Executives, having qualified in 1996 after studying part-time for six years.
After spending 15 years working in a Derby solicitors practice Joanna feels she has returned to her home patch. She was born and grew up in Beeston and lives there with her husband and two daughters.
She has extensive experience in advising people on making all types of wills and giving advice on Lasting Powers of Attorney to enable people to appoint someone to manage their financial affairs and also to make decisions regarding their health and welfare.
Joanna also deals with applications for Deputyship Orders from the Court of Protection.
These are often needed when a person loses mental capacity and has not made a Power of Attorney but needs someone to look after their finances.
“I enjoy sitting down with older people and helping them to organise their affairs,” said Joanna. “Often people are concerned about their responsibilities for their loved ones and about the possible impact of care home fees and Inheritance Tax.
Joanna is part of a team at the Beeston office who handle wills and probate matters.
