Here are some examples of recent successful claims:
Mr W was awarded £13,624 following an accident at a sports stadium in Derby when he was playing a 5 – a side football match. Mr W was playing on a pitch which was water logged. He slipped when he went in for a tackle and fractured his shinbone. The state of the pitch was dangerous but th esports stadium staff failed to carry out any inspections. We took Mr W’s case all the way to trial as the sports stadium were trying to put the blame on the referee for not postponing the match. The Judge decided the sports stadium could not avoid their responsibility and awarded compensation.
Professor T received £4,000 following a road traffic accident at a complicated junction in which he was a passenger. he sustained whiplash injuries which exacerbated his existed medical problems.
Mrs S slipped on a wet floor at work and suffered lower back and thigh injuries. We had to trace the cleaning company who were at fault as her employers denied responsibility. She eventually banked £3,000.
Mr S recovered £11,000 after sustaining a broken leg when knocked off his bicycle by a car. This case was complicated because the driver had a witness saying Mr S was to blame. Mr S also had one independent witness and it wasn’t until we were able to trace a second independent witness who supported Mr S’s claims, that the insurer’s admitted liability.
Miss F received £8,200 following an incident in which she suffered facial injuries. She was walking towards a friend’s car and a neighbour reversed his car into her, knocking her over.
Mr C received £7,000 after breaking his elbow when he was directing a lorry into a loading bay and was knocked over by another lorry. The various parties all denied liability but by perseverance one finally admitted responsibility.
Mr F obtained £11,000 when he fell over a pile of sand left unmarked in the street by the local council.
Mrs A injured her shoulder and hand, including a dislocation of her little finger and can no longer use her little finger for sewing and holding coins. She also had to have her ring re-sized as her ring finger joints remain swollen following an accident in which she fell down a pot hole which was in the verge at the side of a main road. Liability was agreed with a deduction of 20% for contributory negligence and compensation of £5,175 has been given to our client.
Mr A was fishing when he tripped over a raised metal strip on the fishing stage and he fell into the water dislocating his shoulder. A witness was present and so liability was agreed. Our client was awarded compensation of £7,300.
