Domestic Violence and Personal Safety

If you are the victim of domestic violence we can help you. Courts offer protection to the victims of harassment or domestic violence by someone that:-
1.  They are married to (or used to be) or engaged to.
2.  They live with (or used to live with).
3.  Who is the parent of their child or children.
The two main civil remedies that can be made by the courts, to deal with domestic violence are:-
1.   Non-Molestation Orders – these are intended to provide protection for family members, including children against the use of violence or other forms of harassment or molestation.
2.  Occupation Orders – under these Orders the courts can regulate the occupation rights in the family home between family members, they can exclude someone from the home, or from coming within a specified distance of the house.
We can advise in respect of all the options available, and can make urgent applications to court on your behalf where necessary and obtain urgent court hearings to provide protection where needed.
We understand that all clients are concerned about the costs situation and we will provide you with a costs estimate if you do not qualify for Legal Aid.
